The shorthead redhorse, Moxostoma macrolepidotum, is a species of freshwater fish endemic to the northern United States east of the Rocky Mountains and adjacent regions of Canada. It is typically found in natural lakes and still regions in rivers.

A bottom-feeder, it feeds on mollusks, microcrustaceans, insects, and plant material.
