Short Pump Elementary School or SPES is located near Richmond, Virginia in western Henrico County. The school is operated by Henrico County Public Schools. It teaches Kindergarten to Fifth grade students.
The mascot is the Bee, and the school colors are black and yellow.
As of the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 597 students and 36.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 16.6.[1]

During the 2003-04 school year, Short Pump Elementary School was recognized with the Blue Ribbon School Award of Excellence by the United States Department of Education[2], the highest award an American school can receive.[3][4]

In the school's long existence it has established a tradition of excellence through high academic standards and achievement. It holds full accreditation status that was received as a result of its students' achievements on the Standards of Learning and Henrico Assessment Test (HAT) tests.[5]

Many different courses like Art, Physical Education, and Music are offered. The school's music program has been one of the most successful programs given to the students.
