ShortLine, a brand name for two different Coach USA companies, Hudson Transit Lines and Chenango Valley Bus Lines, is a bus service servicing the southern portion of New York, with various forms of service.

[edit] Commuter bus service
Within the New York metropolitan area, ShortLine operates a number of commuter lines to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City, servicing various park-rides in Rockland and Orange counties in New York, and Bergen County, New Jersey, with connections on Orange County services available to other routes in Middletown and Newburgh. Also, under contract to the New York State Department of Transportation and Rockland County Department of Public Transportation, ShortLine provides commuter bus service from Orange and Rockland Counties to White Plains and Tarrytown.[1]

In addition to commuter bus service, ShortLine also provides local bus service in Orange and Sullivan counties, with service radiating from terminals in Middletown, Newburgh, and Monticello, with some service in Orange County provided by that county.

In the Southern Tier and throughout the New York metropolitan area, ShortLine provides service to and from major colleges and universities in the region, such as Cornell University, SUNY Alfred, SUNY Binghamton, and SUNY Albany, as well as towns along the Quickway and I-84 corridor such as Middletown, Binghamton, Port Jervis and Ithaca in New York, and Pike County in Pennsylvania at the edge of the New York metropolitan area, running to and from points around New York City. Connections with Greyhound and Trailways buses are available in Binghamton.
