Shops at Abilene
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shops at Abilene is a shopping center in Abilene, Texas at the intersection of Southwest Drive and Catclaw Drive. This 225,000 sq. ft. shopping center spurred several major chains and restaurants to create their first Abilene locations. The shopping center began leasing in 2004 and now has relatively few sites for leasing.[1]
Since the creation of Shops at Abilene, continuous growth has occurred as more businesses locate in the Southwest Drive/Catclaw Drive area. Spurred by this new shopping center as well as a Wal-Mart Supercenter, new restaurants, stores, and even hotels have been attracted to this retail center. As a result, Southwest Drive between Catclaw Drive and the Winters Freeway will be widened to a 7-lane (with turning lane) arterial road, in order to accommodate increasing traffic to the shopping and dining venue.[2]
