Shooting People

Shooting People is a London-based network for independent filmmakers founded by Cath Le Couteur and Jess Search in 1998. It enables filmmakers to connect via a database and daily newsletters. Starting with just 60 filmmakers the community has grown to an active membership of over 29,000. Since September 2003 Shooting People also operate a network in New York. It was used to help make films including Oscar-nominated short film Little Terrorist. Since 2005 Shooting People is also a distributor - for films made by members such as controversial Sundance documentary Unknown White Male.
