Shontelle Layne is a Barbadian singer/songwriter from Saint James, Barbados. She is popular in the Caribbean for her hit "Colours", realeased in 2005, which is a collaboration with another Bajan artist, Natahlee. She also wrote Alison Hinds' 2006 hit "Roll It Gal". She appeared in the music video for the re-worked "Roll It" performed by J-Status featuring Rihanna and herself, from 2006.[1] Shontelle was recently signed to Syndicated Rhythm Productions/Universal Motown Records.[2] The SRP label is run by the duo of Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers, the same group that led fellow Rihanna to stardom.
