A shoe insert can be classified as a height increasing insole. The insole can be placed inside the users footwear which raises the height of their heel appearing to make them look taller than they actually are.

They are also widely used in the medical field for leg length discrepancy correction. Used in this way, the user is able to adjust the size of insole to their requirements.

Height insoles are an increasingly common accessory used by people around the world today for vanity purposes as well as medical reasons.

Other such reasons for wearing them include reducing foot pain and the effects of arthritis.
