What do you mean? If you want to create your user page just click on the red "Shmuliko" link. You can add almost (besides curses, illegal material etc) whatever you want to that page. Yellow up 22:30, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Kharkiv vokzal.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kharkiv vokzal.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:07, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Israeli Premier League

Please do not add club logos to this (or any) template. Wikipedia's fair use policy explicitly disallows the use of fair use images in templates. Thanks. Oldelpaso 20:18, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Modiin_view.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Modiin_view.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image:Ariel Upper campus.jpg

Hi, can you explain why you tagged this photo as "CopyrightedFreeUse" when you uploaded this photo to WikiCommons but when you uploaded it to English Wikipedia you claim it is "fair use"?

Can you explain why you claim that the copyright owner of Image:Kishon.jpg has released all rights to it when in fact you took it from ru:Изображение:Kishon.jpg who has neither a source or any such claim?

And why do you claim that the copyright owner has released all rights to Image:Suvorov portrait.jpg when you took it from ru:Изображение:P001.jpg who has no such claim?

Isn't it a fact that you will upload any photo and tag them with a phony license? Thuresson 13:34, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi. First, please don't attack me, I'm not a criminal. I'm not such experienced user and may make mistakes. As I understand all files copyrighted from ru.wikipedia is GFDL if there is no other license. If so it is my mistake & I will fix it. As for Image:Ariel Upper campus.jpg: it is "CopyrightedFreeUse" I'm sure, I've studied there. What kind of licence should I use when I'm loading it from wikipedia? GFDL? Shmuliko 15:36, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. If a photo is licensed under GFDL, you should use the same license, GFDL. Also, the GFDL license requires you to give credit to the photographer, eg. write out his/her name: "Photograph by Jeff" or something similar. Also, please always include a source where you got the photo so that others can check for themselves. Thanks, Thuresson 15:49, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
I really find your tone a bit exaggerated, as if Shmuliko were on an FBI investigation. I don't see any reason to say sentences like "Isn't that a fact ... and tag them with a phony license", which sounds like a sentence a prosecutor would say to a witness. Yellow up 18:22, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page removing

How can I remove page with incorrect name? In category some how exists incorrect name Amos (satllite) instead of Amos (satellite). Thank you in advance. Shmuliko 16:06, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I want "JBZ_elephant.jpg" - can you load it to Commons pls?

שלום. I came across your profile because I wanted to learn who uploaded this picture:

Well, the thing is that I need to use this picture on the Arabic version of the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, since Gabi was once featured on a Lebanese television station (and my interest on this particular elephant). If you could upload it to commons.wikimedia.org, I would find it easier to use it, plus anyone else. Hope you'll have the time to register at commons.wikimedia.org asap.

[edit] Re:Category:Port cities in the Middle East

Those were giving me the most trouble as to where to put them. Some countries may have multiple, but others may not. I'll try to redistribute them by country (Israel has quite a few), others can be put into more well-defined regions (Arabian peninsula) and the rest will just go in Asia. (Talk) 10:51, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

The issue have been discussed previously. Please find content policy in link below (Unfortunately, in hebrew only). http://www2.yosh.ac.il/Disclaimer.aspx According to this (paragraph 3), as student, I can use the content without CJS responsibility. Shmuliko 05:46, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

I dunno. Not that it's written clearly, but I understand from paragraph 1 that all rights are reserved, and in paragraph 3 that the college is referring to personal pages or something else. I don't think that the college would mind having the image on wp, though I assume that they would want to still keep some sort of copyright on it. I would suggest contacting the legal dept as requested and have Fritz give you some time to do so since the next week or so are holidays in Israel. --Shuki 20:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

I think it is pretty clear. According to paragraph 1 the content belongs to college, student and employees. Nobody can use the content as college official statement, till this approved by judicial office. According to paragraph 3 the students are free to use content in their web sites. I think it more than enough. Shmuliko 08:51, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Shmuliko, I reinstated the PUI tag and dispute the licensing. I asked a couple of questions at WP:PUI. Would you be willing to continue conversation? Regards, Iamunknown 03:48, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Absolutely Yes. I've provided all needed information and can't understand whats wrong with it. Shmuliko 04:35, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
I detailed my concerns at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images#April 3. I unfortunately cannot read Hebrew but, based upon a machine translation, I think that, though you may use the images as a student, your use does not extend to Wikipedia. Anyways, feel free to follow up at WP:PUI. --Iamunknown 04:47, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
I may disagree. That means that all information is Free for use by students and employees, however this will not be referred as official CJS state. Shmuliko 04:52, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
As well as I could interpret the machine translation, it did not say that material from the website is licensed under a license that permits unrestricted commercial reuse and derivative works. Does it explicitly state that it permits those two things? --Iamunknown 04:57, 15 April 2007 (UTC) --Iamunknown 04:57, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
No. But it doesn't limit reuse of information for any purpose. As well as faculties list there taken from the site, the immage can be used in the same manner. I'm free to use this content on my own web page for any reason -> I'm free to use it in Wiki. Shmuliko 05:34, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
Unless a license states explicitly that the content can be used for unrestricted commercial reuse and derivative works, we don't assume we have those rights. If you use the content on the wiki, then we assume that everyone else can use it as well. --Iamunknown 05:57, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
O'k. I'll put it on my web page and license it GFDL. Use it however you want :). I can also talk to officials, but to achieve written permission can be complicative. Shmuliko 06:38, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi, sorry but there is reason to keep this image deleted. According to the university site you are free to use the image. Like Iamunknown stated, this does not mean they give permission for commercial use and derivative works. It also definitely does NOT mean that the university gives you the right to license the image under the GFDL when you put it on your webpage. Garion96 (talk) 10:35, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I was wondering about a change you made to Karaite Judaism (denomination instead of sect). Can you help me find the discussion to which you refer there? nadav 01:35, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

I've mean then "Semantic in Heaer" topic, but I saw now that you continued the discussion. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 10:02, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi. Great work on the article. I removed the bullets because I dont think that the article is far off of GA status - with a little improving of citations it should be getting there. [edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:K1K logo.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:K1K logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:55, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

.

That's a downside of just telling one admin. Another user might go and tag the image again, which happened now. The best thing is to e-mail the permission to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org. After which the image will be tagged and a permission tag will be placed so a listing like this won't happen again. However, he gives permission to use his images on wikipedia. For wikipedia this is not clear enough. Can the image be modified or used commercially? Could you ask him to release the image under a free license? Like the GFDL or CC-BY/CC-BY-SA?

[edit] The images you uploaded

Hi Shmuliko. I believe we've met before, when I listed an image of the upper campus of Ariel University at WP:PUI. I came across some of your other images, and I am concerned about them. I'd like to deal directly with you, if possible, rather than at WP:PUI. Please respond here rather than at my talk page.

There are multiple images, but for starters, I am concerned about Image:Ashdod picargo.jpg, Image:Ashdod picgencargo.jpg and Image:Ashdod picbulk.jpg. You wrote that these three images were, "Donated by Port Official site http://www.ashdodport.org.il/". Could you forward the e-mails (that is, your request, their reply and any further correspondence) to permission-en AT wikimedia DOT org? Thanks, Iamunknown 23:49, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

Those images I got more than a year before. Do you realy expect me to keep the e-mail? Here above somebody delete the immage with attached e-mail under non-understandable reason. I'm tired of defending my work and embittered. Shmuliko 05:11, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Ashdod

Thanks. I think the one thing currently holding it back from A class, and even FA for that matter is the number of citations. Add to these, and I think it really is getting there. By the way the article is looking great - great work. --Flymeoutofhere 08:19, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:FIFA_Club_World_Cup_2006_logo.gif

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:FIFA_Club_World_Cup_2006_logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 21:34, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:Ariel College logo.PNG

Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Ariel College logo.PNG. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Ashdod lead

Hi. Had a quick look at the lead, and copyedited it. Consider droping a line at the reviewer's talk page, and see if the changes satisfy the GA requirements. My editing will be be irregular in the next 2-3 days, but I hope to find some time to have a 2nd look if needed. -- Derwig 22:12, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Glad to help. The article is close or at FA quality. We should think of FAC or Peer review as a next step. Derwig 21:28, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
    • I would recommend a Peer review first. Feedback from reviewers can be valuable, and help with preparation of the article for FAC. Let me know if you nominate. Derwig 23:08, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
      • Some good advice in the auto-review (and some irrelevant), but lets wait for actual reviewers. In the meantime, if you know editors that can improve the style of the article, it would be a good idea to leave a message and ask for help. Derwig 17:07, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:EilatLogo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:EilatLogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Thanks for uploading Image:AshkelonLogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:57, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

An image that you uploaded or altered, Image:FEL.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images because its copyright status is disputed. [edit] Image:JBZ_logo.JPG

I have tagged Image:JBZ_logo.JPG as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Some examples can be found at Wikipedia:Use rationale examples. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags/Non-free. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 11:27, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image source problem with Image:EilatLogo.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:EilatLogo.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:10, 11 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 16:10, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Giv'ati (moshav)

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently copied the contents of a page and pasted it into another with a different name. This is what we call a "cut and paste move", and it is very undesirable because it splits the article's history, which is needed for attribution and is helpful in many other ways. The mechanism we use for renaming articles is to move it to a new name which both preserves the page's history and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. In most cases, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. If there is an article that you cannot move yourself by this process, follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Requested moves to request the move by another. Also, if there are any other articles that you copied and pasted, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. Jon513 (talk) 15:04, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

I've created the "Redirect". The reason was :

1. To fit it to list of settlments in Be'er Tuvia Regional Council topic.

2. Giv'ati is usualy means Giv'ati Brigade

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:AshdodPortLogo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:AshdodPortLogo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 09:31, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
