[edit] Wyniarz-Gafni

Please add more info about this person, with citations and references. My impression is that inclusion of this info is designed to reflect negatively on Rabbi Riskin. That could be very unfair, depending on various factors, such as whether Wyniarz's alleged actions occurred beore or after the ordination, and how long separated the two. How about making an article about Wyniarz, and then linking from here to there? --Keeves 22:48, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

See this site [1]. Given that that site has the following note: "Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, the spiritual leader of the Israeli community of Efrat, was going to revoke the rabbinic ordination he gave Rabbi Gafni many years ago when they had a close rabbi-student relationship. When Gafni heard of Rabbi Riskin's wishes, he wrote a letter "returning" his semicha to spare his former teacher any further embarrassment." I think it unreasonable to have the Wyniarz-Gafni information included in this article. It is NOT one of "his more notable accomplishments" - it pales in comparison to his hundreds of accomplishments and tens of thousands of students. I agree with Keeves that it was added simply to reflect badly on Rabbi Riskin (especially the use of POV language "seen fit to") and isn't truly "notable" at all. I am removing it. [edit] JDL ref?

The article recently had this phrase added: "after having seen the success of the Jewish Defense League in attracting attention to the plight of Soviet Jewry." What is the source for the JDL connection? I note that this change was also made by the same person who added libelous material subsequently deleted by Keeves. If noone can produce a source to support the JDL connection, I shall remove it. Yoshm 19:38, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
