Shlomo Lahat

Maj. Gen. Shlomo "Chich" Lahat (b. November 9, 1927) is a former Israeli general and politician.

Lahat was born in Germany and made Aliyah in 1933. He served in the Haganah and the Israel Defense Forces. In the IDF, he eventually became the head of the Manpower Directorate and served in that capacity until 1972.

In 1974, he became the eighth mayor of Tel Aviv, continuing his tenure until 1993.
