[edit] Biography
I am a thirty-something resident of Northern California, USA. I have a BS in Mathematics from the University of California, Davis, and am currently working in the mutual funds industry. My hobbies include Christian theology, 19th century Russian literature, and video games.
In terms of Christian theology, my religious beliefs could be summarized by the following buzzwords: conservative, fundamental, non-denominational, Protestant, premillenialist, dispensationalist, trinitarian, Biblical inerrancy. However, I am not a member of the Religious Right or any Christian activist groups, as I believe religion is a personal matter which does not and should not involve the state. My Christian topics blog can be found here.
As for Russian literature, I enjoy Fyodor Dostoevsky, Nikolai Gogol, Leo Tolstoy, Aleksandr Pushkin and pretty much all of "the greats" from the 19th century. I enjoy novels, poetry, and all of it. Great stuff. I am perpetually learning to read and write Russian in the hopes of enjoying these works of art in their original, beautiful, language. Currently, my favorite piece is Dostoevsky's The House of the Dead.
I am a fastidious user of the English language. I originally created an account here so that I could fix spelling and grammar errors on various pages as I happened across them. Since then I have also attempted to "wikify" plain articles that I come across to conform them to the purpose and usage guidelines of wiki. My nickname shift6 comes from the keystroke in the SysOp screen of the Renegade BBS software to delete a user, as in "don't make me shift-6 you!" It makes me lawl.
