[edit] Text from the old Shiva Puranam article

It tells about the great deeds of Lord Siva and presents the mystical aspects of saivaite belief apart from giving an insight into the philosophical aspects of Siva worship. It also contains extensive stories about different events in India and the world. It is not unjustified to say that in spite of the mythological aspect of the book, it serves as a reference to historians as well, as it contains stories of kingdoms, dynasties, places and worship practices which may have been based on actual events.

There are different versions which includes Sanskrit as well as Tamil Versions. Though the accounts differ in many ways, the central theme remains the same.

(If you feel something of this needs to be addedg back to the present article, please go ahead. (Ekabhishek (talk) 16:32, 26 March 2008 (UTC)))

[edit] Plagiarism?

It would appear that the greater part of this article is copied directly from this site. Aside from the overall low quality of the writing, the above page would seem to be a devotional Hinduism source, which I'm guessing constitutes a violation of Wiki's POV policy.

Deleted. Not only it is copyright violation, it is also unreferenced nonverified retale of the text. It is also non-encyclopedic: we need an article about the work, not its retale or long quotation or whatever. See the Rigveda article for an example. `'Míkka 19:34, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Merge with Siva Puranam - Discussion

I believe that both the articles talk about the same aspects and as such, they need to be merged. I do not have any preference for which article should be retained or which should be made a redirect. --Gurubrahma (talk) 09:26, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Merge into Shiva Purana, Supported. Shiva purana be retained.--Redtigerxyz (talk) 13:08, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
