Shinji Ikari is the main character from the television show Neon Genesis Evangelion, this show wich first aired on october 4 1995 in Japan features him as a young man who has troubles with his past and is destined for something much more in the future, he is a loner and dislikes getting close to someone else as is demonstrated by his relationship with his father, Gendo Ikari, until he meets other characters such as Misato Katsuragi wich becomes his guardian while he works for the NERV organization wich sole purpose is to defeat angels that seem to be attacking humanity, he is regarded as "the third child" that pilots the Evangelion unit 1 and joining him are other pilots Rei Ayanami, "the first child", wich pilots Evangelion unit 0 and Asuka Langley Soryu, "the second child", wich pilots Evangelion unit 2, the show was created by Hideki Anno, wich has expresed having a similar youth to one seen on the main character, the series follow an interesting story arc in wich one learns a bit more about each of the characters and how they connect to the overall story
