[edit] Contesting speedy delete

Notability was asserted. I don't think this qualifies for CSD A7. Please contest this via prod or AfD. Thanks. –Dicty (T/C) 01:01, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

I disagree. A player that played all of three seasons and retired a half decade ago is not exactly notable. --Slyder PilotE@ 01:05, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
That may be, but notability was asserted, so CSD A7 is not met. AfD is the proper venue to contest WP:N breaches. –Dicty (T/C) 01:08, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Then might I add this to the discussion: Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information --Slyder PilotE@ 01:19, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
CSD A7, the current speedy rationale, states "An article about a real person, group of people, band, or club that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject." This is not met because the article claims that this person was the player in a notable baseball team and was a top pick. This may not meet the threshold for inclusion in WP, but, for a third time, AfD is the venue to raise this objection, not speedy deletion. –Dicty (T/C) 01:30, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
