Talk:Shimmer Magazine
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This should be a stub page for various meanings of "shimmer" (related to light and reflection, for example) instead of some publication (which should probably be linked as "Shimmer (publication)", "Shimmer Magazine", or something. -EepĀ² 11:00, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
The above issued has been satisfactorily resolved.
On 9 Feb 2007, Rifleman tagged this article for cleanup, but failed to start a discussion about it. I suppose that's sort of a drive-by editing technique: "I think that this article might need cleanup, but I'm too lazy or too busy to do anything about it other than add a tag that states this article may need cleanup." I suspect this is fairly common on Wikipedia and probably accepted practice, but it is terribly non-helpful. To be more helpful in this regard, I feel that one thing that could be improved on is to create a new article for the magazine issues, rather than listing it all out on this page. That was always my intent when I created that section, but I'm unsure about the best way to go about doing it or even if it should be done at all. One of the nice things about listing the table of contents for the issues is that it creates a place for authors to link to their own wikis or websites; another is that it keeps a nice history of the contributors and stories, which someday may prove beneficial. 62.49.23.229 10:53, 19 February 2007 (UTC)A Former Editor
[edit] Links to Live Journal
If you click on the "What links here" hyperlink in the toolbox, you'll see that links to Live Journal are considered as spam by the WP community, and that a cleanup is going to occur at some point in the future. If your live journal link disappears, that's why. JordanSealy 17:28, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Summer06cover.jpg
Image:Summer06cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
