[edit] Pen Name (Minor Edit)

I added Shigure's pen name (Karitani Noa). Kamirose 03:28, 30 May 2006 (UTC)

thank-you for adding his pen name! people have asked me if Shigure Sohma had a pen name!

[edit] Pronoucing his name.

You pronounce the 'e', right? So it's Shi-gur-ay.

I used to think it was Shi-gur. Silent 'e'. XP

In fact, it should be pronounced Shi-gur-eh.

It's actually pronounced SHI-gu-ray, not Shi-GUR-ay (capital letters = the part of the name stressed). A technicality, I know, but still. The English dub's pronunciation of Japanese names bugs me. XP -- Raidenia 06:49, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Technicaly it is pronunced shi-gu-day because there really is no true r in japanese it is supose to be pronouced like "an L mixed with a light D" (my teachers words not mine). Because I would say a light D and that is it (it is kinda muffled). Any way over here Raidenia is right. It is shi-GUR-eh. Well I just though I tell you that.Smileyface 12 91 06:22, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Shigure's Dream

In the manga (book 3) it's mentioned that Shigure had a dream that he shared with Ayame and Hatori. He said it was something he wanted, no matter what the cost, and it was something painful for the other two. What was the dream? Maybe it comes up later so I'll have to read on but does it belong in this article? Or does it end up coming to nothing? Aelita the Angel 08:24 am, 19 June 2007 Pacific Time

Well, it is in the article [kind of, it has to do with Akito], even though it's a spoiler, so I guess I could talk about it here. They all had that dream the day Akito was conceived, and all woke up crying. I don't think they go into serious detail about that dream, but they did go to the pregnant Ren (who didn't know she was pregnant yet) and try to touch her stomach. Ren got jealous, because they wanted to see Akito more than her. So basically, Shigure wanted Akito, and the others were more sad about the imminent death of Akira, the previous god. I don't think it should go in the article, though, but that's just my opinion. I think it's just a minor thing. --Kamirose 20:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks! Yeah...probably not...it doesn't amount to much except as a nitpicky detail...^_^; Aelita the Angel 1:19 pm, 3 July 2007 Pacific Time

This might be a tad bit off topic (as this is Shigure's article, after all), but Akira was not a previous god. That's just a fan theory, I suppose, but it has no canon basis, as it was never mentioned or touched upon in the manga. Not only would it kind of be impossible (as Akira was alive during Akito's early childhood, and Akito herself is the host of the god-spirit), but the author herself implied in an interview that one possessed of the god-spirit is a rare occurrence, and that Akito was either the first ever born with the god-spirit (the whole "we've been waiting! we've been waiting!" from chapter 115), or was one of the very few born of the god-spirit in a looooonngg time. -- Raidenia 06:54, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Uhhhh...

I think it should be mentioned somewhere that Shigure is the name of a minor character in Naruto.

++And houldn't this be taken out of WikiProject Dogs? I mean, okay, he's got a dog, but...

I don't get the relevance it would have to this Shigure's article. Shigure is just a name. Should the article of, say, Bill Clinton, be littered with referenced to other people and fictional characters that also share the name Bill? o_O -- Raidenia 06:56, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Development and Reception

Per the manual of style guidelines for chararacter articles, I've added sections for Development and Reception of Shigure. I've collected a various tidbits of information, culled from Takaya's author notes and reviewers, respectively, that can be used to fill out these sections, and I'll be adding them as I continue cleaning up the character articles. Until I finish compiling them here, though, they probably won't read pretty. Please don't let my work stop others from adding this information, though. —Quasirandom (talk) 15:00, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
