Shizo Kanakuri (Japanese: 金栗 四三, かなぐり しそう, Kanakuri Shizō or Kanaguri Shisō, August 20, 1891November 13, 1984) was a Japanese marathon runner and one of the early leaders of track and field athletics in Japan.

He is best known for disappearing during the marathon race in the 1912 Summer Olympics. He lost his consciousness during the way and was nursed by a farmer who lived nearby. It was the next day when he awaked. All without notifying the competition organizers.

In 1966 he was contacted by the Swedish Television and offered to complete his run. He did accept and completed the Marathon in 54 years, 8 months, 6 days, 8 hours, 32 minutes and 20.3 seconds.

He also competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics. There he finished the marathon race in 2'48:45.4 hours and placed 16th.

At the 1924 Summer Olympics he did not finish the marathon race again.
