Shishology

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shishology is the study of the Art and traditions of Shisha. This concept was crafted and introduced by Ayman Zohry, a social scientists who initiated a Yahoo Group in September 2004. The word was crafted from the Name of the Water Pipe in Arabic language "shisha" (شيشة). Shisha has other names in different countries such as hokka, arguila, narguila, and gooza. Dr. Zohry is not promoting smoking neither Cigarettes nor Shisha, but he is interested in documenting the art of shisha and its development in India and the Middle East in addition to the study of the migration of shisha tradition to the West.
