Shishō (or Shishou?, ししょう) or in kanji, 師匠 (?), and then in increasing levels of politeness: Oshishou (お師匠?),Oshishou-san (お師匠さん?), and Oshishou-sama (お師匠さま?) is a Japanese title used to refer to or address teachers or masters of traditional Japanese arts including, but not limited to noh, shamisen, koto, ikebana, shodo, and Japanese martial arts.

A combination of the 10 stroke kanji Shi ( wiktionary:師?) meaning teacher, and the 6 stroke kanji Shō (or shou?, しょう) wiktionary:匠 meaning craftsman.
