Shiromani Akali Dal (Longowal) is a splinter group of the Badal-led Shiromani Akali Dal. The party was launched on June 7, 2004. Its president is Prem Singh Chandumajra (formerly general secretary of Sarb Hind Shiromani Akali Dal) from Patiala. In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections the party contested the Patiala seat, but failed.
