- Shirley Thomas (USC professor) - a radio/television actress/writer/producer, an advocate for the United States Space Program, and a professor of technical writing at the University of Southern California
- Shirley Thomas (athlete) - a runner who won a silver medal in the 1982 European Championships in Athletics (women's track)
- Shirley Margaret (Marshall) Thomas, UEL* - family history researcher whose work is on display at the Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum in Ancaster, Ontario. Her ancestory traces back to the United Empire Loyalists. Upon her death in 1991 her documents were donated for display at the Museum.
