Shirley Finn

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shirley Finn was a brothel madam of Perth, Western Australia shot on the 23rd June 1975.

Her body was found in a parked car on Labouchere Road, next to the South Perth golf course.[1] At the time various rumours regarding the murder attributed specific issues relative to prostitution and the way it was being handled by police and government in Perth at the time, but nothing eventuated in any evidence or information available at that time.[2]

The murder, and the implied connections with issues relating to policing of the sex industry, resulted in a royal commission being held.[3]

Continued interest in her murder and the lack of any leads led to periodic speculation as to the murderer.[4]

On the thirtieth anniversary of the murder - June 23, 2005 a cold-case review of the murder was announced[5][6] general opinion by some was that no further leads were possible.[7]
