[edit] History
In 1892, the Narrogin Road Board was gazetted. On 1 July 1961, it became the Shire Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1] In 1999 and 2004, proposals to merge the council with the Narrogin Town Council were defeated at referendum.[2]
The shire had 4 wards until the 2005 election, but they have since been abolished. 7 councillors sit at large.
