[edit] History

Minhamite, initially part of the Belfast district, was first incorporated as a shire on 13 January 1871.[2] Minhamite was not divided into ridings and its nine councillors represented the entire Shire.

On 23 September 1994, the Shire was abolished, and merged with Borough of Port Fairy, Tower Hill Reserve, the Shire of Belfast, most of Warrnambool and Mortlake and parts of Dundas and Mount Rouse into the Shire of Moyne.[3]
