Shire of Bowen was a Local Government Area in North Queensland, Australia. The shire included the towns of Collinsville, Scottville, Gumlu, Inveroona, Merinda as well as the administrative centre, Bowen. The Shire was amalgamated with the Shire of Whitsunday to fgorm the Whitsunday Regional Council in March 2008.
The shire economy was based around tropical agriculture, fishing, tourism and coal mining.
