[edit] Introduction
Nestled amongst the hills of Motomiya City, Shirasawa Junior High School serves the residents of Nukazawa, Shiraiwa, and Wada districts in Motomiya City. Constructed in 1980, Shirasawa JHS was established after Shiraiwa Junior High School and Wagisawa Junior High Schools were merged. The school has a little over 340 students and is graded as a “C” type school with regards to its location and size. The highlights of the school year include field trips in April and May, local junior high athletics competitions held in early June (with athletes progressing up to the national tournament level) and Hakuchusai, the school festival held in October.
