[edit] History

Shinji was born in Meguro, Tokyo on 26 September 1934. His real name is Moritsune Ōi (大井 守常 Ōi Moritsune?).

However he has no adequate academic careers or advanced educations, his participation to the live vaudevillian show program, "Shirouto Yose" (consists of free style participation by amateur entertainers) had brought himself to be an independent vaudevillian and comedian.

"Syuichi Makino"(牧野周一 , まきのしゅういち) made his coaching, and had given Shinji's stage name. Hence we find Shinji Maki.

Shinji's comedianship is well known and as fresh as ever. His ukulele play is so fine and rhetoric is often pantomimed by many young comedians.

His BGM is composed by himself and it's derived from the Hawaiian folksong, "Ta fa fai". In Japan, we call "yan-nut-chat-ter song" (やんなっちゃった節).

      • Dakedo sore dokoro ja nai n da neee,Aitsu no atama ha Peaaarl da yo

and as a consequence, we hear "Ah Ah Ah Yan Nut Chat Ter,Ah Ah Ah Odoroita".
