The Shillelagh Trophy is a trophy exchanged between Notre Dame and Purdue, being held by the winner of the annual football game. First presented in 1957, the trophy is a club donated by Joe McLaughlin, a merchant seaman and a Fighting Irish supporter who brought it from Ireland.[1] Notre Dame holds the series lead 32-19 as of 2007.
