Shikabane Hime (屍姫? lit. Corpse Princess) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshiichi Akahito. The manga began serialization in Square Enix's manga magazine Monthly Shōnen Gangan on April 12, 2005, and as of February 22, 2008, seven bound volumes have been released in Japan under Square Enix's Gangan Comics imprint; an eighth volume will follow on June 21, 2008.[1] An anime adaptation produced by Gainax will begin airing in Japan in October 2008.[2] The series centers around the "Corpse Princess" Makina Hoshimura, an undead girl who is hunting down 108 undead corpses, or zombies, in order to gain entry into heaven.
