Shiga, Shiga

Shiga (志賀町 Shiga-chō?) was a town located in Shiga District, Shiga, Japan.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 21,964 and a density of 306.20 persons per km². The total area was 71.73 km².
In March of 2006, the town merged into the town of Otsu, thereby dissolving the Shiga District.
