[edit] Ge'ez "sh"

Is there a "sh" in Ge'ez? If not then either the real Ge'ez name of Shewa should be used or the word "Ge'ez" should be changed to "Amharic"

You're right. It would have been spelled as above, but the language used would have been Ge'ez, despite the modern "sh" letter. How should we reconcile this? — ዮም | (Yom) | TalkcontribsEthiopia 21:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
Actually, more accurately, it's simply referring to the alphabet. The Ge'ez alphabet in its modern form does have the letter "sh," so I think it's fine so long as the page links to Ge'ez alphabet and not Ge'ez language.
