[edit] Ge'ez "sh"
Is there a "sh" in Ge'ez? If not then either the real Ge'ez name of Shewa should be used or the word "Ge'ez" should be changed to "Amharic"
- You're right. It would have been spelled as above, but the language used would have been Ge'ez, despite the modern "sh" letter. How should we reconcile this? — ዮም | (Yom) | Talk • contribs • Ethiopia 21:19, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, more accurately, it's simply referring to the alphabet. The Ge'ez alphabet in its modern form does have the letter "sh," so I think it's fine so long as the page links to Ge'ez alphabet and not Ge'ez language. The name isn't only Amharic, though, so there's no need to say "Amharic:". — ዮም | (Yom) | Talk • contribs • Ethiopia 17:23, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
