Talk:Shelly Tambo

"Additionly she seriesly considers accepting the devil's offer to legalize gambling in Cicely in exhange for either buring Holling's robe or 'booty,'" was poorly spelled and was in the wrong section. However this actually did occur in an episode as the show trended a bit "Magic Realist", especially in later seasons. So it wasn't exactly vandalism or anything, but at the same time I'm not sure if it's significant enough to the character to be worth mentioning. Although if it were I think it'd fit better in the section on her and Holling.--T. Anthony 13:26, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Miranda
The baby appears in a deleted scene in "Lovers and Madmen". Is she ever mentioned otherwise after her birth? —Tamfang 19:37, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yes. I remember an episode when Minnifield alleges Miranda is the reincarnation of his uncle or something. It later becomes fairly clear that he was only asserting this so he could "stake a claim" on the baby and by extension Shelly. He later drops the claim, reportedly because the baby liked Jerry Lee Lewis whereas his uncle found rock and roll immoral. (The real reason is implied to be that he realized it was unfair to Holling to try to "claim" his kid by some metaphysical means) The musical montage that ends the series also has a scene of Holling and Shelly holding their baby while "Say goodbye to our town" plays.--T. - (I've since seen that episode.) To be fair to Maurice, I'm reasonably sure that he was not conscious, until Holling pointed it out, that it was an attempt to hold on to Shelly. – An ironic point in that story was where Holling said something like "You want a child ready-made", as if Duk Won did not exist. —Tamfang (talk) 19:18, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

- Good point. Although I think in some sense Duk Won did not really fill that void as he was a grown man who spoke very little English. He did come to accept him, but being a real "Dad" to him was probably always going to be awkward. This might be getting off-track of what's intended for talk pages as it doesn't relate to Shelly's life-history directly.--T. Anthony (talk) 03:41, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
