- Actually saying their women only is, I'm sure, incorrect as I think it's against the law. I believe they simply offer women better rates than men. I still agree that it's sexist though, and I am a woman. GracieLizzie 18:45, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
- Sheila's Wheels, along with companies like Diamond, Diva, Girl Motor and Lady Insure (to name but a few) are all aimed at women, with special rates for women, but do also sell insurance to men. They are just targetting the female audience and there is nothing illegal about that. The entire World Cup promotion, for example is heavily aimed at men who drink beer. Sky has even advertised a bored housewife schedule of Rom-Coms to run at the same time as the World Cup matches and Supermarkets are upselling their beer for the event. - The main issue is that they give cheaper car insurance to women just because they are women, clearly sex discrimination. It's about time someone sued them. The above person (Wendoline) is speaking pure nonsense. I wouldnt car less (nor would any other guy) if the commercials were aimed at women but men got the same rates, the reality is however women PAY LESS which is sexual discrimination.
- I'm a man but I haven't got a problem with it. There's evidence that the middle class make fewer claims than working class, middle aged people claim less than the very old or the young etc. etc. And all things equal women make less claims than men. Insurance companies are quite entitled to use all available evidence to set their premiums - sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
