Sherraine MacKay

Sherraine Schalm (formerly Sherraine Schalm-MacKay, born June 21, 1975 at Brooks, Alberta) is a top-ranked Canadian Olympic épée fencer, World Cup medal winner, elementary school teacher and author. She is a graduate of the University of Ottawa. Schalm won the bronze medal at the 2005 world championships.

Schalm has earned the best ever results for any Canadian woman fencer at the world championships, the Olympic Games (18th at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens) and is a four-time medallist at the Pan American Games.

She defended Mairuth Sarsfield's novel No Crystal Stair in Canada Reads 2005.

Schalm published a memoir, Running With Swords (under the name Sherraine MacKay), in 2005.
