From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sherman Theatre is a performing arts venue in the Cathays district of Cardiff. It is Cardiff's only producing theatrical venue. Within the premises are two performance spaces: the main auditorium with 468 seats, and the arena which seats between 143 to 163. The Sherman Theatre Company and Sgript Cymru merged in April 2007 to form a new company, called Sherman Cymru, based at the Sherman Theatre. This company will aim to produce a mixture of classics and new writing as well as receiving the best of touring theatre available.
Productions in 2007 - 2008 will include "Maes Terfyn", "The Devoted Friend", "Beauty and the Beast", and "Almonds and the Sea Horse".
Many local people see the Sherman's Christmas productions as being one of the highlights of the Christmas period.
