Shereen Usdin

Shereen Usdin was born in Durban (South Africa), on 8 April 1962. She studied medicine at the University of Witwatersrand (Johannesburg), which she rounded off in 1985. In 1995 she became a Master Public Health, at the Harvard University. She is co-founder of the South-African Soul City Institute for Health and Development Communication. She is active in the HIV/AIDS field, violence against woman and human rights.

She contributed to numerous books and also wrote numerous papers and journal articles. In 2003 she published the No Nonsense Guide to HIV/AIDS, (Verso Press/New Internationalist).
