Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium

Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium is a cricket stadium located in Srinagar. It is home to the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The venue has hosted two One Day International matches, the first being India playing the West Indies in 1983. Int the second match the hosts, India took on Australia in 1986.
[edit] Occupation by security forces
The venue was occupied by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for 18 years during which the city has seen a lot of militant violence, in fact the windows of the dressing room have been shattered due to gunfire.

In November 2007, the CPRF decided to vacate the venue. The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association has planned to renovate the stadium. It also plans to conduct first class matches at the ground in upcomming season.
