Shepherd's Ranch

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shepherd's Ranch is a small community located in Whitmore among the foothills of the Cascade Mountains of Shasta County in Northern California near Redding and Palo Cedro.

Formerly the Cascade School, a boarding school for students experiencing difficulty at home or in traditional schools, when the school closed the ranch was purchased by John Kenyon and is currently the home of a conference and retreat center as well as Shepherd's Ranch Christian Academy, a private all-boy's boarding school which shares the 250 acre (1 km²) ranch property.

Shepherd's Ranch Conference and Retreat Center has a wilderness environment and offers recreational elements such as camping, hiking, soccer, volleyball, softball, Frisbee golf, and a swimming pool. The Shepherd’s Ranch conference and retreat center is used by campers, to host special events, and has guest rooms for visitors.

Breathtaking in its beauty, the property is a crown jewel of Northern California and has well appointed buildings and residences, against a stunning wilderness background (see virtual tour).

Shepherd's Ranch is open to the public for overnight campers to stay in the lavish dorms, and also for those using recreational vehicles (RV’s) and tents. Retreats and church events are also welcomed as well as school groups and other organizations that host events.
