Shelly Peiken is a songwriter who is best known for the hit singles she has co-written for Christina Aguilera, which include but are not limited to "What a Girl Wants" and "Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You)". She also wrote many unreleased songs by Christina such as "Home" from her Stripped album and "Dreamy Eyes" from her debut album.

Peiken is a friend and collaborator of Meredith Brooks. They earned a Grammy nomination for Brooks's hit song "Bitch". Peiken plays guitar and piano and is considered to be an accomplished lyricist.

Peiken had her first hit, sung by Taylor Dayne, in the late 1980s, while still working as a cocktail waitress at the Grand Hyatt hotel in New York.
