Shelley High School is the only high school in Shelley, Idaho. It has obtained the nickname of the "Spud Cellar" due to its architectural resemblance to a potato cellar, and because the students are known collectively as the Shelley Russets. The mascot, King Russet, refers to the Russet potato, a popular potato variety grown in the region. Curtis Brinkman, a three time winner of the Boston Marathon and Greg Olsen, an artist both graduated from SHS. SHS motto "Where students come first."
