Shell Petroleum Development Company

Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, usually simply Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is the primary subsidiary of the Royal Dutch Shell oil corporation operating in Nigeria, as a branch of Shell Nigeria. SPDC is described by the Shell Nigeria webpage as "the largest oil and gas company in Nigeria and has over 6,000 kilometres of pipelines and flowlines, 87 flowstations, eight gas plants and more than 1,000 producing wells." SPDC's role in the Shell Nigeria family is typically confined to the physical production and extraction of petroleum.
