Sheldon Elter was a contestant from Season 4 of Canadian Idol. He was born in Peace River, Alberta but now calls Edmonton, Alberta his hometown. Elter was eliminated in the last round before Canadian Idol's final ten was selected.
Other than being on Canadian Idol, Elter has written Metis Mutt, which has won two awards and has toured through Canada and New Zealand.
He also is one of the cast members of The Canada Show, a play showing a comical outlook on the history of Canada, put on by Monster Theatre.
Sheldon also is a co-founder of a ukulele cover band called "The Be Arthurs" with good friend and castmate Ryan Parker.
