Sheksna (Russian: Шексна́) is a river in Vologda Oblast, Russia, a left tributary of Volga. It has its source in the Lake Beloye at 60°04′N 38°00′ECoordinates: 60°04′N 38°00′E, and joins the northern part of the Rybinsk Reservoir of the Volga near in the city of Cherepovets. Presently it has a length of 139 kilometers (86 mi), while it used to be some 400 kilometers (250 mi) long, and joined the Volga at Rybinsk before its lower part was flooded, and became a part of the Rybinsk Reservoir. The Sheksna is a part of the Volga-Baltic Waterway.
