[edit] Background

Sheila is the assistant creative director at MODE Magazine and works under Wilhelmina Slater as the assistant editor when Daniel or Alexis are away. Her style is more along the lines of a Wilhelmina-in-training, making Wilhelmina less than impressed. Despite this, Wilhelmina already had plans for her to be the next second in charge when she takes over the magazine when she relaunches it as "Slater," but those plans were scrapped, as Sheila was appointed Creative Director of MODE magazine in "Giving Up The Ghost," after Wilhelmina was fired from that position and decided to launch "Slater" on her own.

Whenever Sheila is around Betty, Betty is unnoticed by her as if she didn't exist; In "How Betty Got Her Grieve Back," she asked if she was a "disaster" during a photo shoot involving victims of natural disasters.

Sheila also seems to be driven when it comes to work, especially when she hands out assignments. In the episode "Giving Up the Ghost," she is none too pleased with Daniel after he makes Mode receptionist Amanda (late editor Fey Sommers' daughter) a consultant on the "Hot or Not" column. After taking in Amanda's ridiculous presentation, Sheila paraphrases Lloyd Bentsen, intoning, "I knew Fey Sommers, I worked for Fey Sommers, I even made out with Fey Sommers. You are no Fey Sommers."

Other unusual traits Sheila also exhibits include being obsessed with how her breasts look, even when wearing Victoria's Secret and drinking while working.
