Sheikh Kamal

Sheikh Kamal (Bengali: শেখ কামাল) was the son of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding leader of Bangladesh. Kamal was an organizer of the Mukti Bahini guerrilla struggle in 1971. Not only that, after getting commission in Bangladesh Army Lt. Sheikh Kamal worked as the ADC of General Osmani during liberation war. After liberation he studied in Dhaka University and graduated with honours from sociology. He was very popular among his friends. Kamal was a very good sitar player of Chayyanat. He was a competitive athlete as well as a sports organizer. He will be known for the coming years as the founder of Abahani, a popular sporting club of Bangladesh. He was killed with the rest of the Rahman family on August 15, 1975.
