Shehab (Dynasty)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Shehab dynasty (also Chehab, Arabic: شهاب) reigned over areas in present-day Lebanon from 1697 to 1842.[1]

Leaders of the dynastic family converted to Christianity in the mid-eighteenth century and were known for their religious tolerance. Their reign is viewed as a time in which the different religious communities lived in harmony.[2]
