Sheffield is a town situated 20 km inland from Devonport on the north-west coast of Tasmania, Australia's island state. At the 2006 census, Sheffield had a population of 1,034.[1] Sheffield was one of the many early townships to be settled.
It has become a major tourist attraction due to it becoming a town of murals. Murals helped to increase the town population. The township has a population of approximately 1,000. Cradle Mountain is located approximately one hour south-west of the township.
