Shed Media (previously Shed Productions) is an independent British production company. It was established in 1998 by Maureen Chadwick, Ann McManus, Eileen Gallagher and Brian Park, all of whom had previously worked together at Granada Television. Their first major production, the hit ITV prison drama, Bad Girls came about in the summer of 1998 and after proving to be a huge success with fans, Shed commissioned their second drama in 2000, Footballers' Wives.

In 2006, both Bad Girls, which had run for eight series and Footballers' Wives, which had run for five series, came to an end which disappointed many fans. But Shed Media still continues to produce, in the form of its latest dramas, Waterloo Road and Rock Rivals. Three series of Waterloo Road have so far been aired and a fourth series will begin in late 2008. Rock Rivals began its first 8-part run on 5 March 2005 on ITV.

Filming on Shed's newest drama series, Hope Springs, will begin in Summer 2008 in the Scottish Highlands, and will air on BBC One in Late 2008.

Following on from Hope Springs will be a drama series set around the lives and loves of Notting Hill Tories. A title for the series is yet to be decided on.[1]

However, the majority of the shows produced by Shed Media are thought to be low quality, especially "Bad Girls" and "Footballers' Wives". In March 2007, ITV plc chairman Michael Grade launched an attack on the two shows, saying that they should have been "killed before they began". Shed produce their shows for mostly BBC One and the ITV Network.

The company has recently acquired Twenty Twenty Productions, responsible for programmes such as That'll Teach 'Em, Bad Lads Army and Brat Camp and has also changed its name to Shed Media.[2]
