[edit] Career
[edit] Irish whip Wrestling and All-Star Wrestling
Sheamus O'Shaunessy began his wrestling career in The Monster Factory in April 2002 where he trained under the supervision of former Word Wrestling Federation (WWF) wrestler Larry Sharpe. He made his wrestling debut 6 days later against Robert Pigenion. However, a serious neck injury sidetracked his career for two years.
In May 2004, Shaunessy returned to wrestling at the newly opened Irish Whip Wrestling school in Dublin and debuted in their Mount Temple show on July 9, against the 345 lb. Mark Burns, a match which he easily won. After this, he went on to wrestle and defeat several international wrestlers, including Vid Vain, Matt Striker, Xavier and Mikey Batts.
In March 2005, he defeated his former friend Red Vinny, Vid Vain and The "Pukka One" Darren Burridge to become the first ever IwW International Championship. This led to a feud with Burridge, which involved him interfering in Shaunessy's championship match against D'Lo Brown by hitting him in the head with a baton, thus giving Brown the victory and IwW International Championship. O'Shaunessy and Burridge squared off in a grudge match, which saw O'Shaunessy successfully exacting his revenge and winning the match. He then set his sights on winning his title back and defeated both Red Vinny and Vic Viper to become the No. 1 contender for a Triple Threat IwW International title match against D'Lo Brown and The Assassin at a MEW show in Newcastle in October 2005. O'Shaunessy pinned D'Lo to become a two-time IWW champion and brought the title back to Ireland. He defended the belt against Vampiro in 2005.
On October 21, 2006, O'Shaunessy shocked the Irish wrestling circuit when he appeared as a heel at the up-and-coming Irish wrestling promotion No Limit Wrestling during the NLW's Halloween Slam event. He defeated Vampiro, once again, on St. Patrick's Day in 2006.
Sheamus had then begun wrestling predominately for All-Star Wrestling. While O'Shaunessy was unsuccessful in his bid for the title, he has vowed to make the next shot count and take the belt.
[edit] Real Quality Wrestling
Sheamus O'Shaunessy has participated in several matches but would be remembered after a feud with "Thee" Drew Galloway (now known as Drew McIntyre in WWE). It was on March 24th, 2007 that Sheamus would debut for RQW defeating Stu Sanders. SOS was not finished at RQW as he then went on to feud with Galloway and face him on April 20th, 2007 with the match ending in a double count out.
It was sure to come to an end when on June 16th, 2007 both men faced off for the second time, this time in a No Holds Barred match which Drew Galloway did come out winner. Seamus has not participated in a match from then on in RQW.
[edit] World Wrestling Entertainment
O'Shaunessy appeared at the televised RAW show in the M.E.N. Arena in Manchester, England, as a member of WWE Security. His role was to eject D-Generation X (DX) from ringside. After escorting them from ringside, DX later attacked Rated-RKO after their match, resulting in O'Shaunessy and the rest of the security team to come down to the ring and break up the fight. However, S.O.S. and the security team were attacked by DX. S.O.S. was the last security guard standing and received a Pedigree from Triple H as a result of his interjection between DX and Rated-RKO.
O'Shaunessy also had a tryout with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in November, around the time of a Dublin house show.
In April 2007, O'Shaunessy was called upon by the WWE once again for another tryout, which became a dark match against Jimmy Wang Yang in the Datch Forum in Milan before a SmackDown! taping.
The following week in the Earls Court, O'Shaunessy was once again back at the WWE house show, where more tryouts were held. This time, however, WWE gave him a developmental contract. After receiving his contract, Sheamus was placed in WWE's newest developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling. On February 19, 2008, O'Shaunessy teamed up with the debuting Kafu and were joined by SmackDown! superstar Dave Taylor as they took part in a tag team tournament to crown the first-ever holders of the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship. They advanced past the first round after defeating "Thee Superstar" Christopher Gray and "The Rascal" Tommy Taylor but lost to Brad Allen and Nick Nemeth the next round in the second round.
