"She Bangs" is a song originally performed by Ricky Martin, from his 2000 album Sound Loaded. Like many of Martin's songs, it is a romantic salsa song about being infatuated with a woman. The song reached #12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The spanish version of this single received a Latin Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video at the Latin Grammy Awards of 2001.

[edit] William Hung

Main article: William Hung

In early 2004, William Hung earned brief fame after singing the song during his audition for the third season of American Idol; although rejected by the judges, his disastrously-poor performance yet optimistic attitude amused audiences, and Hung continued to perform and record the song. In April 2004, Blender magazine named both his and Martin's versions of "She Bangs" one of the "50 Worst Songs Ever", ranking it at #39 on the list. [1] Despite this, the song today has become more associated with William Hung than it has with its original performer, Ricky Martin[citation needed].
